  1. T.V today.

    March 5, 2012 by Tori

Alright guys. Lets get serious. We have all watched a cooking show at least once in our live, and if you haven’t, pay attention. They are totally unrealistic. Everything the do is spot on perfect. They whisk an egg in 3 seconds. Their chocolate NEVER ceases, they never cut themselves or show any sign of struggle when chopping or cutting things! Their food never burn or overcooks.Their water boils in under a minute! Let me give you some visuals…. How the chefs look at the end of cooking. How I look at the end of cooking. How my pancakes turn out. How T.V chefs pancakes turn out. Erggg!!

  3. Frozen dinners 2

    March 4, 2012 by Tori

So remembering my last post of frozen dinners, I thought I would recommend one! My most highly recommend frozen dinner meal is “Bremers Frozen Garlic Chicken Pasta.” It is super delicious and tastes homemade and fresh. All you do is put the contents of the bag into a large skillet. Then you add a tablespoon of water until it simmers. Then you reduce the heat, put on a lid and heat for 9-11 minutes. Its that easily! The meal includes plump chicken cut into chunks, broccoli, carrots, corn, and pasta. All of this is smothered in a delicious garlic sauce. I’ve eaten and entire bag in one sitting, all by my self! It is so good! And really cheap! Only 3 dollars a bag. Well as they say in Sweden,Wow det här är riktigt bra kyckling i en påse!(Wow this is really good chicken in a bag!)

    Adjö! (Goodbye!)

  4. Frozen Lasagna. BLECH!!!!!

    March 3, 2012 by Tori

So I was feeling a little lazy for dinner, so I made a frozen dinner. Wrong move. I followed all of the directions for a frozen lasagna dinner and waited for the allotted time. When it came out, it looked pretty, but it tasted awful! The sauce was bland and thick. There was no meat and no cheese, it was pretty much floppy pasta with rubber band flavored sauce. Do not buy it! It is a huge waste of your money, and takes an hour to cook!Don’t buy frozen lasagna! Coconut flavored La Croix for dinner.

  5. Lunch time! Asian inspired salad.

    March 3, 2012 by Tori

For lunch today, me and my dad made salads. But not just any salads. Asian salads! We started out chopping the vegetables. You can use left over vegetables from breakfast (see “Sautéed Veggies with English Muffins”) Or you can start with new vegetables. These are the ones I used. 1/2 a bunch of Romaine Lettuce. 1/2 large carrot ,1/4 cucumber and 2 green onions. Chop them up and put it in a salad bowl. Next I made the dressing. Mix in Worchicire, Soy sauce, White Rice Vinegar , Toasted Sesame Oil,Salt and Pepper and Ginger Paste. Eyeball all of it to your liking. Mix in sauce to the vegetables and enjoy!

  6. Sautéed Veggies with Toasted English Muffins

    March 3, 2012 by Tori

So today for breakfast, (My little brother and his 2 friends made roman noodles) I made sautéed vegetables. Its a simple concept, but super delicious! So first I started chopping the veggies. You can use any type you want but this is what I used. I chopped up one large carrot. One stalk of green onion. 2 large Baby Bella mushrooms. 8 stalks of asparagus. 1/4 of a green bell pepper, and some leftover potatoes. I heated up a medium skillet with butter and put my veggies in. While they were cooking I took some Havarti cheese and grated it one the top. After about 5 min, I took out my veggies and sprinkled even more cheese onto them. I toasted an english muffin and “TaDa!” A delicious breakfast for 1. Enjoy!

  7. I’m making waffles! (And white gravy)

    March 3, 2012 by Tori

So today I tried making a white gravy that I saw someone make on “Chopped”. The recipe is super basic. Equal parts flour, equal parts butter and then you add milk to the right consistency. Then you Salt and Pepper ALOT! So I tried to be different and add a little chicken bouillon. It came out way to salty. I mean like its like a chunk of salt kissing a chunk of salt while salt was raining from the heavens. With salt on the side. BLECH! I tried to cut the saltiness by added some pepper. Didn’t work. Next I tried cutting it with some lemon juice. Didn’t work. So I added water. Messed up the consistency. Oh well, I’ll try again tomorrow…. My mom just made waffles at 11 o’clock at night. Picture of batter below. They are yum yum yummy! Recipie follows…

    1 3/4 cup of flour

    1 tablespoon of baking powder

    1/4 teaspoon of salt

    2 egg yolks

    1 3/4 cups of milk

    1/2 cup cooking oil

    2 egg whites

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat egg yolks slightly. Beat in milk and oil. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. In a small bowl beat egg whites until whites are stiff. Pour into a greased waffle iron. Cook according to the waffle iron directions. Take them out and garnish with fresh fruit, syrup and powder sugar. Enjoy!

  8. Update!

    March 3, 2012 by Tori

Hey everyone! Happy March! So since I haven’t been on my site in FOREVER! I decided to give everyone a quick update of whats been going on. I made the CYT (Christian Youth Theater) producing of “Fiddler on the Roof”. Then I was in “The Little Mermaid”. I also took to cooking! I L-O-V-E cooking! I will be starting separate posts just for cooking, food or anything culinary related. I will also be starting seperate just for theater blogging! Ok now prepared to be shocked. I lost my turtle. Thats right. How can someone LOSE a turtle! Long story short, my little bro was showing my sisters friend my turtle and forgot to put him back in his cage. 1 month later and we all assumed he was dead. Imagine this. A turtle with no water, no food and 2 cats and 2 dogs prowling around the house looking for a snack for 1 month. Wouldn’t you assume that said turtle would be dead? Well he wasn’t! He is fine now. All hydrated and fed. Anyway, I think I’ll start on my cooking blog soon. Auf Wiedersehen!

  10. Turtles Rule!

    June 26, 2008 by admin

Many people think turtles are slow. Or lame. Or weird. Really? Weirder than having a tiny goldfish that will only last a few days? Turtles are actually very fast! In water they can out swim a human any day. On land they are faster than a blink of an eye! Not all turtles just sit in the sun all day and do nothing! Oh well, no-one really likes turtles anyway. Every-one except for me! So seriously? No more slow or lame or weird!  You know why? Because “Turtles rule!”
